The Marqeta platform is certified with the October 2023 VisaNet Business Enhancements, effective 14 October 2023.

Marqeta changes to support this release of Visa

The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 2.2, which implements Visa Resolve Online (VROL) version 23.2. VROL version 23.2 includes mandatory changes to the Disputes questionnaire as well as to processing rules. Visa changes with no impact on Marqeta

The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 2.7, which renames the Exception File and requires issuers to support the new Visa Account Screen, including automatic enrollment in the Automatic Cardholder Database Update (Auto-CDB) service. No public-facing changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 2.9, which requires issuers to submit fraud reports on account funding transactions (AFTs). No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 3.6, which requires that original credit transaction (OCT) payloads include a populated merchant address. You can see this address information in the original_credit.sender_city field in the transaction payload. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate.

Mastercard network certification

The Marqeta platform is certified on Mastercard Release 23.Q4, effective 7 November 2023.

Marqeta changes to support this release of Mastercard

The Marqeta platform supports Mastercard article AN 7112, which enhances the On-behalf Service (OBS) 05 Mastercard Identity Check AAV (Accountholder Authentication Value) Verification Service and OBS 06 Mastercard Identity Check AAV Verification in Stand-In Processing with a new service result value. The new value indicates that the AAV is incorrectly formatted. To reflect this change, Marqeta now includes a new value of not_verified_formatting_error in the cardholder_authentication_data.verification_result field in transaction response payloads.

Mastercard changes with no impact on Marqeta

The Marqeta platform supports Mastercard article AN 6791, which introduces new digital commerce solutions indicators. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports Mastercard article AN 7108, which increases the Fraud Notification Service chargeback counter from 15 to 35. This change increases your chargeback opportunities when you are trying to recover losses to fraud. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports Mastercard article AN 7402, which enhances account status inquiries to enable name validation in a future Mastercard release. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports Mastercard article AN 7404, which enhances Mastercard Send to include new reason codes and descriptions for declined Funding, Moneysend Payment, and Gaming and Gambling Payments transactions that exceeded the Mastercard Send program limits. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports Mastercard article AN 7405, which repurposes two unused advice detail code values for Account Balance Listing and Dynamic Decisioning during a network stand-in processing event. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports Mastercard article AN 7413, which changes the message reason code data element from optional to conditional in multi-clearing scenarios, and adds new message reason codes for first presentment messages. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate.

The Marqeta platform is certified on Pulse Release R23.2, v1.0, effective 8 October 2023. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this certification.

The Marqeta platform is certified with the April 2023 VisaNet Business Enhancements, effective 23 April 2023.

Marqeta changes to support this release of Visa

The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 2.2, which implements Visa Resolve Online (VROL) version 23.1. VROL 23.1 includes new Compelling Evidence 3.0 rules, with updates to the pre-dispute and post-dispute services. For information about Marqeta’s support for Visa disputes, including Compelling Evidence 3.0 rules, see Managing Visa Disputes (Beta). The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 2.5, which changes the minor units for the Icelandic krona from two to zero per the ISO standard. The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 3.6, which removes redundant address certification service (AVS) code values that are sent to the card network. No public-facing changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate.

The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 1.1, which requires issuers to support domestic and cross-border account funding transactions (AFTs) in the regions of Canada; Central Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEMEA); Latin America and Caribbean (LAC); and the United States (US). No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 2.8, which allows merchants to use estimated and incremental authorizations for purchase transactions at all MCCs, excluding certain transactions. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 2.13, which adds a new lodging MCC and a new store MCC. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate.

The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 3.8, which sends card-present data fields to issuers in the Europe and US regions in OCTs initiated for cash deposits and gambling payouts. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform will support VisaNet Business Enhancement article 3.9 in the October 2023 release, which introduces the ability to match on a cardholder’s first, middle, and last names separately. The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 3.16, which implements changes to the token provisioning process so that when a device token is deleted and the cardholder provisions the same PAN back to the same device, the original token will be returned to the device. No changes to the Marqeta platform were necessary to support this mandate. The Marqeta platform supports VisaNet Business Enhancement article 5.7, which increases the default maximum transaction amounts and velocity limits for OCTs and AFTs in the regions of Canada, LAC, and the US.
