What a year!
As we wrap up 2025, the Marqeta team is taking a collective breath after one of our most action-packed years to date. From product launches to new leadership, acquisitions, research, events, and enough branded T-shirts to start a small boutique store, we’ve been busy.
Here are the highlights from a year we won’t soon forget.

Together with Klarna and Visa, we supported one of Europe’s largest flexible-payment expansions: Klarna’s innovative new debit card rolled out across fifteen new European markets, following success in the U.S., powered by Visa Flexible Credential™ and Marqeta’s global issuing platform.

We welcomed TransactPay into the Marqeta family
This year we acquired TransactPay, strengthening our European footprint and expanding our regulatory and BIN sponsorship capabilities.
More coverage. More flexibility. More regions for customers to build in. A game-changing addition that we are excited to share more about in 2026.
Our State of Payments report leveled up
We launched our biggest, richest State of Payments report yet, covering consumer AND SME trends, market shifts, emerging opportunities, and what’s shaping the future of payments across the US and Europe.

API Chronicles rolled on
We continued our API Chronicles livestream series, diving deeper into real-world payment challenges and solutions. This year, we explored a wide range of topics, including:

- How trading and wealth platforms are integrating card programs to deliver faster, more engaging customer experiences

And we hit the road
